What makes this school special

  • A small comprehensive (about 520 students) with an outsized science-and-tech bent: three two-year CTE pathways in biotechnology, computer science, and environmental science/engineering/policy, each with industry internships
  • Beginning 2026-27, The Academy's college and career program moves to Wallenberg, bringing City College dual enrollment, work-based learning, and Mission Bay Hub access alongside Wallenberg's AP and elective lineup
  • Nine AP courses verified on the 2025 testing schedule, from Calculus to Chinese Language and Culture, plus AVID for college readiness
  • Every student completes 100 hours of community service to graduate — fitting for a school named after the Swedish diplomat who saved thousands of Hungarian Jews in WWII
  • 31 student clubs and a sports program that fields nearly every AAA sport except tackle football, fencing and gymnastics included
