What makes this school special

  • All-girls Catholic college prep on the Peninsula, founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1931, with more than 8,000 alumnae
  • The Tri-School Program with Junípero Serra (boys) and Notre Dame Belmont (girls): each school stays single-gender while sharing co-ed classes, arts, and activities, so students get a single-sex classroom and a co-ed social life
  • 42 honors and AP courses, the merit-based McAuley Honors Scholar Program, and AMES, a four-year support program for students with diagnosed learning differences
  • A broad athletics program — 16 sports — competing mainly in the West Bay Athletic League, with about 70% of students playing at least one sport
  • The campus centers on Kohl Mansion, a 1914 Tudor estate that has doubled as a film set: Mary Pickford's silent Little Lord Fauntleroy (1921) and, decades later, the Robin Williams comedy Flubber, which used the mansion as its Medfield College
